Houston Patent Lawyers: John T Polasek

John T. Polasek (Ted) is a founding partner of PQE and has been practicing law since 1990. Since 1994, his practice has focused primarily on licensing and litigating matters related to patents, trade secrets, trademarks and unfair competition. In January 1995, Ted joined a start-up firm, Tobor & Goldstein, that successfully focused its practice on the enforcement, licensing and defense of intellectual property rights.  In 2001, Ted became a named partner and the firm name was changed to Goldstein & Polasek, L.L.P. In 2002, Ted established Polasek, Quisenberry & Errington, L.L.P. (“PQE”) with Dale Quisenberry and Colin Errington. PQE was established to provide high-quality representation of its clients utilizing flexible fee arrangements that meet the needs of its clients, such as contingent fee, mixed-fee or other client specific fee arrangements, as well as traditional hourly fee work. Over the years, PQE’s work has been instrumental in obtaining substantial resolutions for clients.

Ted has experience litigating a broad array of intellectual property cases, including patent, trademark, trade secret, unfair competition, and related common law and state causes of actions. Through the years, Ted has also gained experience in a wide variety of technologies, including oil field equipment, medical devices, vision recognition systems, license plate recognition, music identification, computer accessories, smart phones and other telecommunication equipment, contact lens, laser levels, and software inventions.
