John T. Polasek (Ted) is a founding partner of PQE and has been practicing law since 1990. Since 1994, his practice has focused primarily on licensing and litigating matters related to patents, trade secrets, and trademarks.  Ted has experience litigating a broad array of intellectual property cases, including patent, trademark, trade secret, unfair competition, and related common law and state causes of actions. He litigates cases on behalf of patent owners and companies accused of infringement.  He has successfully negotiated licenses involving patent portfolios that included over 100 patents.  Through the years, Ted has also gained experience in a wide variety of technologies, including vision recognition and monitoring systems, license plate recognition, vehicle collision warning, music identification, computer accessories, software, smart phones and other telecommunication equipment, wireless navigation and mapping systems, advanced process control, contact lens, oil field equipment, medical devices, and laser levels to name a few.

Over the years, Ted has been associated with one of the premier intellectual property firms in the country, Arnold White & Durkee, and small boutique firms that focused its practice on patent litigation.  In 2002, Ted established Polasek, Quisenberry & Errington, L.L.P. (“PQE”) with Dale Quisenberry and Colin Errington.  Ted and his partners recognized that prospective clients were increasingly looking for counsel that worked efficiently, provided high quality representation, were responsive to a client’s phone calls and emails, and offered fee solutions that incentivized favorable results, in addition to traditional hourly fee arrangements.  PQE provides efficient, high-quality representation for its clients with the flexibility and “hands-on” service of a smaller firm capable of providing its clients with reasonable hourly rates as well as contingent fee, flat-fee, mixed-fee or other results-based fee arrangements. Over the years, Ted has successfully achieved numerous favorable resolutions for clients under these business models. Ted has litigated cases across the courts in many well-known venues, including New York, Delaware, The Eastern District of Virginia, Florida, Oregon, Nebraska, Illinois, Arizona and the Southern and Eastern Districts of Texas.
